Irony is a rhetorical device that expresses the opposite of what the speaker means, often with the intent of humor, satire, or convey a deeper meaning.
Irony is different from sarcasm in that sarcasm is meant to mock or criticize, while irony can be used for various purposes, including humor, social commentary, or to convey a message in a subtle or indirect way.
Irony can also be used to emphasize a point, but it is not the same as asking a question or paraphrasing a speaker's exact words.
Thus, Irony is a rhetorical device used to express the opposite of what the speaker means.

A Model Speech of Self-Introduction
Apply what you’ve learned in this chapter by analyzing the following case study, using the accompanying questions as a guide.
Hi. My name is Adam Currier, and I’m going to be introducing myself to you today. When I was first told that I had to introduce myself using a collage, I was afraid because I think college, and I immediately think art, which is a subject that I have never been any good at.
So I was stuck on what I wanted to do for my college to introduce myself. So when I’m stuck and when I need any kind of inspiration, I usually turn to my wall. And that’s where I went—I turned to my wall. And when I look at my bedroom wall, I see quotes like "Be mindful of yourself and the world around you" and "Time is not a thing you have lost; it is not a thing you ever had." And I wondered why I had some of those quotes on my wall and other quotes like "We’re not here to find a way to heaven. The way is heaven." And I started thinking about why I had these themes on my wall. And I realized that it was because of two major events that have happened in my life.
The first one was the theme that really got me thinking about pursuing the goals I wanted to pursue, even when other people told me that it wasn’t possible. And that was my sophomore year of high school. I had decided that I wanted to take eight classes instead of the normal six. So instead of being at school from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., I’d be there from 7 in the morning to 7 at night.
And the minute people heard that I was going to do this, everyone said it couldn’t be done. My mom, my dad, the people who have been most supportive of me in my life, told me that I couldn’t do it. And that I would wreck my grade point average, and I would end up not being able to get into a college that I wanted to go to. My friends, who have also supported me right by my parents, told me that I couldn’t do it.
And I did it anyway. And I made it through without wrecking my GPA. I finished up with A’s and B’s just like I had all the years that I’d been in school. Realizing that even when no one was supporting me, I set my mind to a goal and achieved that goal; I realize that it’s important to never let people tell you what you are capable of. If someone says you can’t do that and it’s something you really want to do, do it anyways.
The second theme on my wall was to enjoy every minute of life. And I was thinking about the main thing that made me think about that, and I realized that it was my grandfather. Every year since I ever remember, we’ve gone back to Iowa and spent a week of that summer just being with my dad’s parents, my grandparents. And each year as I grew, I grew closer and closer to my grandfather. And it got to the point where I no longer just knew him as a relative, but I knew him as a human being.
Sitting outside on his porch one day, right before he died, he told me about his life and we were talking about what he had done—being in World War II, being a dentist, being a community leader—all the things that he had ever achieved in his life, and it all sounded so perfect. I said, "Grandfather, what do you regret most in your life?" And he said, "Adam, I regret not seeing more sunsets." A couple months later he passed on, and I realized that I didn’t enjoy every single minute with him as much as I could have and I didn’t have the time with him that I thought that I’d have.
So I look at my wall now and I see the quotes on it and I see the stories on it and the pictures on it, and I realize that everyone I’ve ever come into contact with, everyone I’ve ever met, everything I’ve ever done has all contributed to shaping the person I am, and my wall reflects the person that I am. So if I can pass on anything to you, I would hope that it would be to enjoy every minute of your life, and in that enjoyment never let people tell you what is possible because only you know your potential. Thank you.

a. The journal entry required to record the transaction on August 8 is as follows:
Bad debt expense $6,300
Accounts receivable - Valley Company $6,300
b. The direct write-off method violates the expense recognition (matching) principle because it does not match the expense of uncollectible accounts with the period in which the related sales were made.
Under the direct write-off method, the expense is not recognized until the account is determined to be uncollectible, which could be in a different period than when the related sale was made. This can result in a distortion of the financial statements and may not accurately reflect the company's performance.
The matching principle requires that expenses be recognized in the same period as the related revenue, to accurately reflect the true profitability of the company.
A better method for accounting for uncollectible accounts is the allowance method, which estimates the amount of uncollectible accounts and records the estimated expense in the period of the sale. This method better reflects the matching principle and provides more accurate financial statements

A species is the biggest group of organisms in which any two individuals of the right sexes or mating types can conceive a fertile offspring, usually by sexual reproduction. It is a unit of biodiversity in addition to an organism's basic classification and taxonomic rank.
In addition, a species can be recognized by its karyotype, DNA pattern, anatomical features, behavioral traits, or ecological niche. Additionally, paleontologists employ the chrono species concept because fossil reproduction cannot be investigated. The most recent precise estimate places the number of eukaryotic species between 8 and 8.7 million. However, only 14% of these had been described as of 2011.

Advantages and disadvantages of mobile phones write essay
Answer:
Mobile phones have become an integral part of our lives, enabling us to stay connected with the world at all times. They provide numerous benefits, including instant communication, entertainment, and access to information. However, with these advantages come some disadvantages that must be considered.
One of the biggest advantages of mobile phones is their ability to keep us connected with people from all over the world. They allow us to call, text, or video chat with our friends, family, and colleagues, no matter where they are located. This ability to stay in touch with loved ones and conduct business on the go has made mobile phones an essential tool for modern living.
Another significant advantage of mobile phones is the entertainment they provide. With the ability to stream videos, play games, and listen to music, mobile phones have become a source of endless entertainment. They have also made it easier for people to access news, weather updates, and other information, making them a valuable tool for staying informed and up-to-date.
However, there are also some disadvantages associated with mobile phones. One of the most significant is their potential to distract us from important tasks, such as driving or working. The constant notifications and alerts can be a significant source of distraction, leading to decreased productivity and increased stress levels.
Another disadvantage is the potential health risks associated with prolonged exposure to mobile phone radiation. Although the scientific evidence is inconclusive, there are concerns that long-term use of mobile phones may increase the risk of cancer and other health problems.
In addition to the health risks, mobile phones can also be a source of addiction. The constant need to check for new notifications and updates can create a sense of dependency, leading to increased stress levels and decreased mental health.
In conclusion, mobile phones provide numerous advantages, including instant communication, entertainment, and access to information. However, they also come with some disadvantages, such as the potential for distraction, health risks, and addiction. It is essential to strike a balance between the benefits and drawbacks of mobile phone use to ensure that they remain a useful tool for modern living.

Writing Prompt
If you found out that the world would end today, how would it end? Zombies, Alien invasion, natural disasters? How would you survive? Who would you try to save?
Write one half page story.
Answer:
Hope this helps!
Explanation:
If I found out the world was ending today because of a zombie apocalypse, the first thing I would do is make sure my immediate family is completely safe. I would find a base that's somewhat high up, like in an upstairs condo unit and have my family help me put defense mechanisms up around the stairs to make sure zombies won't be able to climb up.
Then, I'd prepare an escape route through a window towards the back of the house just in case we need to get away quickly. I would then wait for a week or two until the initial wave of the apocalypse dials down and then make myself smell like a zombie. It would probably be easy to find some zombie remains somewhere and use them as a way to mask my human scent so that it'd be harder for the blind monsters to detect that I'm a living human.
After disguising myself, I'd take my dad's weapon from under my parent's bed and try to locate a corner store somewhere nearby. If I'm lucky and don't encounter any zombies, I'd fill up a bag with some snacks, drinks, and anything else that might come in handy during the apocalypse. If everything goes well, we could continue living like that until a cure arrives or the zombies just die out because of a lack of food or whatever may occur along those lines.
