Do parents have different rules, standards or hopes for their sons than for their daughters? Why or why not, give an example.

Answers

Answer:

Yes, they do! Most parents are more concerned about their son's education than for their daughter's. Whilst parents may not intend to treat sons and daughters differently, research shows that they do. Sons appear to get preferential treatment in that they receive more helpful praise, more time is invested in them, and their abilities are often thought of in higher regard. They also provide better nutrition and medical care for boys than girls, and indulge in a host of other practices that discriminate against girls. Even in this day and age, families openly celebrate the birth of a son, while the birth of a daughter is not always greeted in the same manner.

Explanation:

Answer:

I'm guessing they do, I'm a girl but this is my opinion, lets get started ;)

STANDARDS FOR MEN:

For men, the standard that most parents put on them are things such as: Being tough (no crying), protecting girls from danger, as well as they have more freedom in general (in a non sexist way). Men tend to have more freedom then women because scientifically and logically, men are more likely to have more defense skills and usually the danger isn't aimed towards them.

RULES FOR MEN:

Usually the rules for men that their parents have set are pretty simple and straightforward. For example, curfew at 11:30pm, no disrespecting your parents, (or elders in general).

HOPES:

The hopes that parents have for their son are very similar to what they hope for their daughters. For example, many parents would like their sons to be financially stable, have a family (so they can have grandkids which I know a lot of parents that want this), and this kind of connects to the first reason, but if your a doctor, that is like a dream come true for parents.

SIMULARITIES BETWEEN SON AND DAUGHTER RULES:

Both are most likely expected to have good grades, clean the house, be respectful, have a good job etc.

STANDARDS FOR GIRLS:

Majority of parents expect their daughters to be physically in shape, have good grades, become a mom when they are settled (if they want), be respectful etc.

RULES FOR GIRLS:

The rules for girls *daughters* seem to be unlimited (in my opinion lol). For example, curfew is cut shorter, (instead of 11:30pm it would be 11pm), in general parents will be more worried for their daughter about coming home late because more than most likely, girls are more targeted which I mentioned above. So to tie it all up, girls tend to have more rules then guys which can be unfair, but at the end day, its for the safety of their kids.

*DISCLAIMER!!! THESE ARE WHAT I THINK PARENTS DO TO THEIR KIDS BASED OFF OF TV, INTERNET, REAL LIFE*

GRAMMAR NOTES: There are four types of sentence structures writers can use to
vary their writing and provide more syntactic variety.
A simple sentence is a sentence with one independent clause.
A compound sentence contains two or more independent clauses.
**Alt] A complex sentence is a sentence that contains
one independent clause and one
or more dependent clauses.
A compound-complex sentence contains two or more independent
clauses and one or more dependent clauses.
Exercise #1: In this exercise, Dr. Frankie has been hard at work cooking up
some sentences. Can you identify the types of sentences he has created?
1. The original monster wasn't Boris Karloff; it was a character
created more than 190 years ago by a twenty-one-year-old author named
Mary Shelley.
2. The full title of Mary Shelley's novel is Frankenstein;
or the Modern Prometheus.
3. Prometheus stole fire from the gods in order
to bring wisdom to mankind, and Shelley's gruesome tale
was influenced by that ancient Greek myth.
4. Even though Prometheus thought he was doing
the world a favor, the gods were angry, so they chained him to a rock
where an eagle ate his liver out every day.

Answers

The sentences can be classified as 1. complex, 2. simple, 3. compound, 4. compound-complex.

The classification of a sentence as complex, simple, compound, etc. depends on:

The number of clausesIf the clauses are dependant (incomplete ideas) or independent

Let's analyze each of the sentences:

1. This sentence contains two clauses The original monster wasn't Boris Karloff and it was a character created more... The second clause is dependant because it has only a complete meaning if the first sentence is included.

Independent clause + 1 dependant clause = complex sentence

2. This sentence contains only one clause because there is only one verb Is and this idea is complete.

Independent clause = simple sentence

3. This sentence includes two independent clauses, the first one is Prometheus stole fire... and the second one is Shelley's gruesome tale was influenced... as both are complete ideas.

Independent clause + 1 independent clause = compound sentence

4. This sentence includes one dependent clause Even though Prometheus..., and two independent ones the gods were, and they chained.

Dependent clause + 2 independent clauses = complex-compound sentence

List THREE ways countries, private businesses, and organizations are providing
greater access to electricity

Answers

Countries, private companies, and organizations can provide greater access to electricity through financing, balancing power distribution networks, policy, and tax incentives.

We can arrive at this answer because:

Access to electricity is still precarious in some regions, especially in underdeveloped countries. For this access to be more explored and provided to a greater number of people, there must be coordinated action between governments, organizations, and private institutions.Organizations must demand government actions that facilitate access to electricity and extend the reach of electric companies.Private companies must provide financing and seek to maintain a balance with public electricity supply companies.Governments should promote financial and fiscal policies and incentives that encourage the greater distribution of electricity.

With this, we can say that for a greater number of people to have access to electricity, an organization among important institutions in the country is necessary.
