The Boston Massacre was held on March 1770- When a disagreement took place between an apprentice wigmaker and a British soldier, a crowd of 200 colonists gathered surrounding the seven British troops. The Boston Tea Party on December 1773- With the passage of time,  the British withdrew their forces from Boston and canceled much of the Townshend legislation. But the tax on tea was kept intact and in the year 1773, a new law was put into effect known as the Tea Act, to support the financially struggling British East India Company. Through this act, the company could sell tea at a price that undercut the American merchants who imported from Dutch traders. The Coercive Acts held on March-June 1774- In response to the Boston Tea Party, the British government decided that it had to master the rebellious colonists in Massachusetts. So during the spring of 1774, the Parliament passed a series of laws, known as the Coercive Acts, which closed the Boston Harbor until compensation was paid for the destroyed tea, provided extensive powers to the British military governor General Thomas Gage and forbade town meetings without approval. Lexington and Concord held j on April 1775- It so happened that the British General Thomas Gage led a force of British soldiers from Boston to Lexington, where he planned to capture colonial radical leaders Sam Adams and John Hancock and then move to Concord and take hold of their gunpowder. But American spies got this information beforehand. British attacks on coastal towns on October 1775-January 1776- Because of the Revolutionary War’s hostilities which started with Lexington and Concord, Randall states that at the initial stage, it wasn't clear whether the southern colonies, whose interests didn’t much sync with the northern colonies would be all in for a war of independence.
